On connait Polaroid comme étant le premier a avoir inventé la photographie à développement instantané en 1948. Pourtant en 1857, l'entreprise Bolles and Smith breveta le premier appareil instantané. En 1864, Jules Bourdin (un français) breveta un autre système qui remporta un certain succès.
